By our te...I think we lose our dreams by decades.

By our teens we have already begun to taste reality's sore spit! Thinking of ones self alone no longer works in their groups with their families or friends.

By our twenties, we see this even more. Otherwise we become disliked, and left alone.

Then, by our thirties we have acknowledged to a large sense our limitations. Our dreams become less glamorous and more about family, sharing, kindness, compassion.

Our dreams as children are purely selfish, and I believe as we grow, we must surrender to the fact that being selfish might lead to money and success, or whatever else those dreams might be, but it doesn't get us love, companionship, solid connections with people who think you matter.

My drams to be a superstar at five, became a wish to be a better person, a good wife, daughter, friend. My most selfish dream is to be a writer, but I work that around my life. It's not more important than what or rather who, matters.

Shah .XShah Whartonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04997125261145672115noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8620701009195199296.post-78479165782751199872011-01-04T05:30:20.551-05:002011-01-04T05:30:20.551-05:00Sounds awesome. I don't think I even knew about homeschooling at the time, but I feel like I've achieved that childhood dream by being a home educator to my own child.
I also wanted to travel the world which is something I'm determined to make happen in the next several years. :)Camillehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17731843741521434042noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8620701009195199296.post-76648867519454628612011-01-03T18:52:30.366-05:002011-01-03T18:52:30.366-05:00I just love you, Lindsay- you should really write ...I just love you, Lindsay- you should really write a book! I got to guest blog over at Refusing to Grow Old Gracefully for Donna and it was so much fun!

Second off...When I was a little girl I dreamed of so many different things. Of course, I wanted to be a princess and a ballerina and own a huge horse farm! SO, I was a princess for Halloween 5 years in a row (I was all kinds of different princess though...A medieval princess, a heart princess, a fairy princess, a tiger princess, and princess Elizabeth.) I also took ballet lessons for a year in 3rd grade and then I took horseback riding lessons for six years after that. I guess what I am getting at is that my dreams as a child did not work out exactly as I thought they would, but they did come true in some sense.

Yes, as children we have these wonderfully fantastic dreams, some nearly impossible, yet we reach for them in some form or another. I agree that my dreams may be more "practical" but they are there. I just look at it different now :)

AubrieAnne @ http://whosyoureditor.blogspot.com/AubrieAnnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13275625148557048357noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8620701009195199296.post-69016170837830695472011-01-03T16:23:58.402-05:002011-01-03T16:23:58.402-05:00i love lindsay!i love lindsay!morgan.https://www.blogger.com/profile/03114026432842035557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8620701009195199296.post-35831836845718760772011-01-03T15:15:25.881-05:002011-01-03T15:15:25.881-05:00Soooo sweet post........well done Lindsay....you t...Soooo sweet post........well done Lindsay....you travelled me sooo far away.....thank you!!!!!
KisseeeeeeesHappy Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12913155974942433041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8620701009195199296.post-17289669445888077712011-01-03T14:29:06.002-05:002011-01-03T14:29:06.002-05:00Bravo Lindsey!
