Once upon a time I was a prolific writer of poetry, it's been years since I wrote any, but it's possible I'll get back into it since I'm finding some of my older poems and getting that itch again. Thought this one would be perfect for the season and of course to show off a picture of my kitty princess back when she was a kitten princess!
Seeing is believing
I imagine
a world torn by
an absence of the
elemental faith
of innocence
"Don't tell me you believe in Santa?"
she looks at me
as if asking reassurance
only five and already
she is tainted -
confronted by skepticism
more and more I'm finding
that seeing?
is not believing,
but believing bring seeing
yes, she believes in Santa
because she sees him
in my eyes.

Wow, Donna! You are so talented :) I too write poetry and I'll have to pull the books out that I packed away when we moved so I can share some with you. I think you need to create a page for all of your poetry! This is so beautiful!!!

Thank you sweetie! I'd love to read some of yours too! I'm a sucker for poetry of any kind, I could read it all day long! I'm excited for you to find yours now! Yay!
Donna this is amazing...I really think you should write a lot more poems...you are so great at it! This reminds me of the times I spent with my grandmother during the holiday season, we used to always write poems together :)
Aw, you're too sweet! I used to write nothing but poetry, and I think I'm definitely getting back into it. I'll be posting more off and on, I've got notebooks full already even without writing another! I love that you've got such great memories with your grandmother, I don't really remember much about Christmas with mine, but the relationship there was kinda odd for a long time. Thanks for the sweet comment hon!
Love it. I'm new here and I think I'll be back.
I am following you back! Thanks for commenting on my blog :) You might wanna check out my latest giveaway I have ending this week with LOW entries, so come on by!

Have a very blessed Thursday!!
How is it that I just now found this place? Oh well..
I love poetry! I wish I still had all of my old poems from high school and such. I haven't written any in so long.
B has always refused to believe that there wasn't a Santa Claus, despite several attempts by others to shake that faith. She amazes me!
Beautiful!! I'm blog hopping and found your blog. I'm now a follower! Would love for you to check out my blog and follow back!
Oh I am wow'd at your site - its so professional - I'm green. Trying to rush around learning what I need, write content, work out what I need and don't is bonkas - but you got it down here perfectly. And loving your poems, lady! X
Great poem. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
@Alex - Welcome hon, hope you'll enjoy your visits here, I'm still posting everyday, at least until the inspiration dries up! Thanks for the comment and I'll definitely keep tabs on your blog too!
@SS Thanks for the comment! I'm not doing cards this year, but otherwise I'd be all over that!
@Jessica - Yay! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you'll stick around! I'll check out both sites!
@Vedette - I don't know but I'm glad you did! You should look for your poetry, I'd love to read it! This one was written years and years ago, but I thought it fit the season. It's so great when kids can overlook skepticism and hold true to their own beliefs!
@LMAD - Thank you! I will definitely head over your way...wait, I think I already did! I've forgotten that I didn't get around to posting my comments yesterday oopsie?
@Shah - Aw, thank you sweetie, I'm so glad you liked everything, hopefully when I'm feeling a bit better I can really dive into yours, I've been there a few times but you've got soooo much good stuff I don't ever know where to begin!
@AJ Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
